Welcome to ENSURE-6G

ENSURE-6G project will develop robust solutions to provide resilient 6G telecommunication infrastructure in the presence of both cyber and physical attacks in 6G networks. The rationale for the ENSURE-6G project is well justified due to the need for advanced and intelligent security and privacy-enhancing mechanisms deployed in practice within current mobile networks and the necessity of novel efficient mechanisms for future networks. ENSURE-6G will have a strong impact on the careers of all participating staff involved. It will equip them with cutting-edge technical and practical knowledge in the security and privacy of 6G technologies. It will create an opportunity to build a strong professional network and bond with industry partners beyond the project’s completion date. The ENSURE-6G will aim to ensure that the EU is at the forefront of security and privacy requirements of 6G networks and that new security measures are designed to mitigate the risks associated with new 6G end user devices and users.
Main Objective – ENSURE-6G
Design, implement, validate, and prototype novel security and privacy solutions to offer prevention, detection, response, and mitigation against both hazards and physical and/or cyber-attacks in B5G and 6G networks.
Scientific Research Objectives

Collaboration Objective
Enhance the impact of ENSURE-6G by providing staff exchanges that equip participants with cutting-edge technical and practical knowledge in 6G security and privacy, fostering strong professional networks and industry partnerships. Through this, empower researchers towards key positions in industry and academia, in the strategically important area of 6G network security.

Methodology
The ENSURE-6G project is built and organized based on Design Science Research (DSR) method59, which defines tangible steps to achieve the intended objectives.

The initial phase reviews current security and privacy threats, including AI/ML-driven 6G frameworks, identifying challenges, state-of-the-art analysis, and defining comprehensive security requirements across tasks within work packages for emerging technologies and applications.

The second phase defines 6G security and privacy requirements, focusing on AI trustworthiness, sustainability, lifecycle management, scalability, fairness, and explainability. It aligns with 6G standards (e.g., ITU, ETSI) and privacy regulations like EU GDPR.

The third phase develops technical components for ENSURE-6G, including AI/ML-driven security architecture, scalable AI-based solutions, explainable AI for 6G security, legal frameworks, business models, and long-term security strategies for 6G networks and services.

Validation and performance evaluation of proposed security solutions will use simulations (e.g., Mininet, NS3, MATLAB) and formal verification (e.g., BAN logic, AVISPA). Four testbeds will address key 6G use cases like eHealth, IoT, and Telco-traffic.

This phase includes scientific and technical dissemination efforts, emphasizing a collaboration framework to identify and build synergies with target groups, including Horizon Europe initiatives, networks, and relevant bodies.
