Our second secondment in Thessaloniki, Greece was a rich and memorable experience, combining meaningful academic progress with the pleasure of spending time in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki. During this visit, we had the opportunity to meet our colleague from Z-RED Periklis, and we are grateful for his kindness, generosity, and warm hospitality throughout our stay.
One of the important outcomes of the visit was the advancement of our joint paper on the privacy challenges and possible solutions related to 6G networks. The secondment provided a valuable setting for moving this work forward. We also began working on a new paper that further explores the privacy challenges of 6G in light of broader philosophical discussions on privacy, opening an additional and important direction for our shared academic work.
Beyond the academic aspect, what made this visit especially special was the welcoming atmosphere we experienced. The hospitality we received was truly wonderful and made us feel at home from the very beginning. Thessaloniki itself added greatly to the experience. Its beauty, vibrant character, and rich cultural and historical atmosphere made our stay even more enjoyable.
Due to the war in Israel, we were unexpectedly required to extend our stay in Thessaloniki by an additional three days. While this created unforeseen circumstances and extra expenses, we were grateful for the support we received during this time from the project management. We would especially like to thank Bart for his advice for covering these additional costs to from the budget of the next secondment. His understanding and assistance were greatly appreciated.
We return from this secondment with gratitude for the opportunity, appreciation for the people who welcomed us so warmly, and satisfaction at having taken another step forward in our ongoing work.
