As part of the ENSURE-6G project, Professor An Braeken from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) undertook last summer a secondment at Technische Universiteit Delft (TUD) in the Netherlands. The stay was hosted by Professor Aaron Ding, who provided an excellent environment for networking, exchanging ideas, and fostering collaboration across disciplines.

Strengthening Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
The secondment facilitated fruitful exchanges with researchers across the TUD community. Discussions touched upon standardization efforts, human-centric cybersecurity, logistics-oriented security, and healthcare data protection, underlining the societal relevance of embedding trust, security, and privacy into next-generation communication systems. We also had interesting discussions with Professor Ding and Linh, a second-year PhD student from TID also on secondment, centered on federated unlearning.
Looking Forward
The secondment at TU Delft provided Professor An Braeken with an enriching platform to broaden research perspectives, strengthen collaboration between VUB and TUD, and further reinforce the commitment of ENSURE-6G to building secure, trustworthy, and inclusive communication systems for the 6G era.
