In Spring 2026, I returned to Z-RED for a follow-up visit, building on the work I started during my Summer 2025 secondment under the ENSURE-6G project. The trip was a chance to continue our joint research thread on validation and AI-based protection mechanisms for healthcare use cases, and to plan next steps.

I’m pleased to share that the paper, “Aligning AI-Native 6G Healthcare Systems with EU Ethical and Legal Frameworks” by Eirini Kanaki, Elly Andrikopoulou, Periklis Chatzimisios, and myself, has been accepted for publication and was presented by Elly at the Medical Informatics Europe (MIE) 2026 conference in May. The paper builds on the telemedicine scenarios we explored at Z-RED, translating ENSURE-6G’s privacy and robustness goals into concrete, scenario-based conditions aligned with the EU’s ethical and legal frameworks for AI-driven healthcare.

For me, the acceptance is a nice marker of how cross-task secondments inside ENSURE-6G can move from initial exploration through to published, peer-reviewed contributions. My thanks to the Z-RED team for the continued collaboration, and hosting me in Thessaloniki.
